Zip World – Sky High Fun in North Wales – Part 2

Zip World’s Fforest adventure also boasts another area called Tree Hoppers. This serves as the younger equivalent of the Zip Safari for slightly older and more adrenaline seeking youth. These zip lines are significantly lower than the ones of its big brother, but the challenge and layout is very similar. Finally, as part of its multiple offerings is the coup de grace of the area called Skyride. This giant swing that can hold up to five people at a time is comprised of a large horizontal metal bar set 80ft above the ground. Once strapped in and with hard hats on, riders will slowly be pulled back like a pendulum further and higher above the breathtaking countryside below. Then once let go the momentum will swing all attached down and skyward in on swift movement that will send the wind rushing past you. Those looking for something to shout about will love the speed, the multiple swings and the terrific scenery that Skyride brings.

But remember this is just one of three adventures that Zip World has available, the most southern of which is Zip World caverns that brings with it a much different set of enjoyable activities. Bounce Below is a staggeringly innovative use of the Welsh cave system. In here the caves are not dark, damp and dingy but instead lit by colourful atmospheric lights and covered wall to wall with vibrant netting. This is much like the Treetop Nets in the Fforest zone but with the adventure turned up to the max. Here in the depths of the underground visitors will climb their way up and slide their way down an intricate set of netted pathways, and as you may expect from the name these ones are particularly bouncy. Its spiral tunnels once again expand into large open areas perfect for bouncing around on since the whole floor acts like a giant trampoline. Where else can you do back flips above the sheer drop of an unused mine? But if that is death defying enough its time to move on to Titan.

This unbelievably long zip line experience is Europe’s longest and one that should not be taken lightly. With nearly 2000 metres of line to cross those with a fear of heights will have a long way to go with their eyes closed. Starting hundreds of metres above the ground level with half the height of Snowdon, this is a zip that will not be forgotten quickly. Unlike many other extended zip lines, Titan can be conquered by more than just a solo rider. For a competitive challenge up to four high-fliers can conquer great distances all at once aboard this soaring skyline, making for a high octane and high altitude race you and your peers will be talking about for years to come. For those who meet the height and weight requirements to ride, Titan is an unmissable and once in a lifetime experience that will cement itself in the memories of anyone visiting North Wales.
